The BARRANQUILLA FREE ZONE is an Industrial Free Zone with goods and services, administrated and directed by a private rights society that operates since July 1, 1994 denominated "operator" user and responsible of verifying the completion of regulations of exterior commerce ruled by decree 2233 of December 1996 (Ministry of Exterior Commerce).

The corporations that are established in the Free Zone are denominated "users" and are classified according to the activity they develop:

Industrial Goods User: its social objective is to fabricate, ensemble and transform industrial products for sale in external markets in a subsidiary manner in national territory.

Industrial Service User: Renders services oriented primarily to external markets as transportation, warehousing, etc. Sells to foreign markets products that haven't been transformed and also sells in a subsidiary manner to the national market, his added value are his services.

Commercial User: Its social objective is to commercialize in the internal or external markets. The operator user authorizes the installation of the industrial goods and service user and commercial user.

Any judicial person, national or foreign, legally established in Colombia, can qualify as a user, by presenting an application to an operator user (Barranquilla Free Zone).

Such application should have:

Name or Social Reason and applicant's address; Description of the project, technical feasibility study; Determination of composition or probable composition of the company's capitol.

When necessary, favorable conception of the competent entity on the environmental impact of the project according to the existing environmental regulations.

Deed of the company constitution, financial statements, commercial and bank references.

As soon as the application is approved a Qualification Act is subscribed for the user.
